How did that get under my table?

Today is a balmy 80 degrees F.  It almost reminds me of being in Atlanta, except without all the humidity.  It is quite lovely.

David and I do not have air conditioning.  Hardly anywhere (with the exception of museums and department stores)  has air conditioning.  It really isn't too bad.  We live on the top floor, so with the windows open we end up having a nice cross breeze.  It is like my entire living room is an outdoor patio without all of the icky dirt that accumulates....or so I thought...

Yesterday, David and I were sitting down to a lovely dinner of spicy pasta and salad.  I turned to David to say something and when I looked back at my salad bowl I had a little surprise in there....

A dandylion parachute.  How appetizing...  I looked up and saw more coming in.  *Sighs and closes window that is above the table. As you can see from the picture below, we have a very large window directly above our table.

While vacuuming today I found a HUGE white pile under the table.  At first glance I thought that it was hair from Millie, our beloved white dog whose favorite place to be is at our feet under the table.  She has been shedding large amounts of fur for the last several weeks and it is not uncommon for us to find large piles of hair in here favorite napping places.  After closer inspection I learned that the culprit was not my dog, but instead the dandelions.

There must have been a strong wind for that much to get into our house.  While we do live on the top floor, the air path from the nearby soccer field (where I assume the dandelions are coming from) is blocked by several other houses.  I am hoping that this a temporary problem because (1) I don't want to move my table, (2) I can survive in the heat without having the windows open, and (3) weeds in my food isn't very appetizing.

On the positive not, it is raining at the moment.  Hopefully that will squash any thoughts those dandelions have about coming into my house.  Beware dandelions, I have a vacuum and I am not afraid to use it. I also have two dogs that enjoy eating you! Mwahaha!  Okay, enough with the evil laugh.

Just for your amusement.  Millie is starting at the window and watching the rain.  She can barely contain her excitement. She looks like she is about to burst with excitement.  Crazy dog.

On a slightly related note,  I got my camera battery back a few weeks ago and now I can take pictures again.  This means I am going to try to attempt to document some of the insane behavior of my two dogs that only a picture can do true justice to.

Happy Tuesday!

Too Long and Too Much

It has been over two months since I have written.  Where does the time go? The last time I wrote there was still snow on the ground and I was shivering in the house.  Now, flowers are blooming and the wdows in our home are open wide.  Many days I come home and find our house to be too warm.  I never thought that would happen.

My apologies for not updating this more frequently, but life has been a bit hectic....

The entire month of March was spent traveling  throughout Germany.  I went to Nurnberg, Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, Garmish-Partenkirchen, Landsberg, and many other little towns.  A ton of things have happened, so it might take me a few blogs to catch everyone up on the events

April has been filled with vacation time with the hubby, work, birthdays, visits with friends, and taxes.

I'll try to blog about the interesting things...and there were alot.

More to come soon.
